american soccer revolutionary
August 7th, 2010

When the Revs announced they’d be honoring Alexi Lalas before the 8/7 game vs DC, I knew I had to do a banner, but I also knew it had to be something that was an appropriate tribute to a guy whose career was and still is largely based on being American soccer’s greatest troll. Fortunately, [...]

we went to South Africa: the megapost
July 30th, 2010

If you’ve got the time to kill, here’s the entire 11,000+ word trip report in one gigantic post. It’s the same stuff in the other five South Africa entries, so if you’ve read those, there’s nothing new here–this is just one big link to hand out.

we went to South Africa: epilogue
July 30th, 2010

This here’s the post with miscellaneous observations that didn’t fit into the rest of the trip report, or else I forgot to put them in. Half-assed discussion of social issues included.

we went to South Africa, part 3
July 29th, 2010

When last we left, we’d spent another week in Johannesburg hanging around watching soccer games. Now it’s the time for the third part of the story, in which we decide it’s a good idea to go on safari with, among other people, these clowns.

we went to South Africa, part two
July 25th, 2010

When last we left, we’d just spent our first week in Johannesburg, and were hitting the hay the night before the US-England match. Now, here’s the second part of our story, which is wordy as hell and involves an awful, awful lot of talking smack about the English.

we went to South Africa, part one
July 21st, 2010

This is so long, I’m going to break it into three sections, which is a nice way of saying I want to get something or another up before the end of July. The photo gallery’s here, so follow along as you read about the first week of our trip.

I’ve been back from South Africa for about a week, and still have no idea when I’m going to finish captioning all 900 photos or writing up the trip report. In the meantime, here’re the mostly uncaptioned photos (broken into two sub-sections, in case you want more photos of us being jerks at soccer games [...]

my mother has recommended I render you unconscious
May 26th, 2010

Back at the US/Costa Rica WCQ, Andy Mead got a really awesome photo of Dolo wearing boxing gloves and biting the hem of a flag. Obviously, it had to be a banner, and the caption just wrote itself. This and the Chuck D thing make me think I should do more early-90s rap themed work.

know your national team
May 16th, 2010

This post’s a special case; it’s copypasta an adaptation of an intro to the 2010 US World Cup squad written for a forum I frequent. That’s why some of the material’s going to be familiar if you read this site often, and why I’m too lazy to scale down the images to fit this site’s [...]

Campaign 2010: on sale now!
January 17th, 2010

I had such a great response to the Campaign 2010 project that I decided to call my pals at Busy Beaver, reprint all five buttons plus a sixth mystery button, and sell them together as a set. However, these buttons are slightly different from the initial run–they’ve got really cool metallic printing this time. Each [...]
