If you’ve got the time to kill, here’s the entire 11,000+ word trip report in one gigantic post. It’s the same stuff in the other five South Africa entries, so if you’ve read those, there’s nothing new here–this is just one big link to hand out. This here’s the post with miscellaneous observations that didn’t fit into the rest of the trip report, or else I forgot to put them in. Half-assed discussion of social issues included. When last we left, we’d spent another week in Johannesburg hanging around watching soccer games. Now it’s the time for the third part of the story, in which we decide it’s a good idea to go on safari with, among other people, these clowns. When last we left, we’d just spent our first week in Johannesburg, and were hitting the hay the night before the US-England match. Now, here’s the second part of our story, which is wordy as hell and involves an awful, awful lot of talking smack about the English. This is so long, I’m going to break it into three sections, which is a nice way of saying I want to get something or another up before the end of July. The photo gallery’s here, so follow along as you read about the first week of our trip. I’ve been back from South Africa for about a week, and still have no idea when I’m going to finish captioning all 900 photos or writing up the trip report.
